Poetry's Not Really My Bag

I hated the poetry portions of high school and college English. I could glimpse the beauty in the word and structure, but I didn't truly GET it, not like I did with prose. But I can write the bejeesus out of a haiku. Easy third grade stuff, with contractions and no flowery anything. It ain't Keats, or even "There once was a girl from Nantucket," but it was fun to do.

Songs seem less forced, thank god
